About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of its ethical sourcing. You'll recommend recipes and actively bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life. Your enthusiasm and friendliness will help build lasting relationships with customers, enhancing their impression of the Waitrose brand and fostering loyalty. Additionally, you'll contribute to maximizing sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring high presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
* Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
* Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols and helping reduce food wastage.
* Maintain knowledge of new products and Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when required.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Effective communication skills to work well with team members and customers.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality environments.
* Strong interest and knowledge of current food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the whole branch.
