About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Longton, Preston. This role involves providing tailored support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and thrive in the school environment. This is a maternity cover role with possible long term opportunities. May need to Drive.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individualised support to a designated pupil with SEND, both in and out of the classroom.
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions and adapt learning materials.
Assist with developing the pupil's confidence, social skills, and emotional well-being.
Implement strategies from Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Promote positive behaviour and a nurturing, inclusive environment.
Build strong relationships with staff, parents, and external professionals.
About You

Experience supporting children with SEND (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other needs).

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to supporting children to reach their full potential.
Teaching assistant qualifications (desirable but not essential).
