About the Role
The Senior Programme Manager will provide commercial and technical assurance across the portfolio of Estates Development projects that emanate from the Integrated Infrastructure Plan. The role will coordinate the programme of work, covering projects from complex refurbishments to major redevelopments and new builds. It offers leadership experience in managing the Cost Manager and leading procurement package development and external supply chain management.
Responsibilities
* Oversee delivery of the capital programme, working closely with the Assistant Director: Capital Development and Senior Project Manager to ensure a coherent programme of projects is planned and delivered.
* Ensure appropriate processes and supply chain arrangements are in place for delivery of the programme.
* Prepare comprehensive procurement documentation to support Estates Development projects.
* Ensure quality standards are met across all projects for design, sustainability, cost, programme and health & safety.
* Take programme-level oversight and governance responsibility for effective delivery from inception to completion and occupation.
* Lead reporting of project status and overall programme.
* Liaise with the wider Estates team to ensure compliance with Health & Safety Procedures and other relevant legislation.
* Lead and manage the Cost Manager.
* Work with the Cost Manager to plan, manage and report on financial elements of the programme and prepare cost estimates.
Qualifications
Required skills, experience and qualifications include:
* Experience overseeing capital programme delivery within a university or similar large organisation.
* Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
* Strong understanding of quality, sustainability, health & safety and cost control in construction projects.
* Leadership experience managing a cost manager or similar technical team.
* Strong communication and reporting skills.
