Job Description:
EDGE INNOVATE is currently recruiting for a Paint Shop Supervisor to join our busy Paint Shop. The Paint Shop Supervisor will be responsible for managing the Paint Shop facility to maintain a cost-effective and efficient manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Service Delivery
2. Daily operational supervision of a team of paint shop operatives.
3. Providing advice and guidance on all paint shop operations (blasting, prepping, painting, repairs, etc.).
4. Coaching and mentoring staff to develop skills.
5. Estimating painting times, oven requirements, staffing, and costs to optimize production.
6. Developing and improving manufacturing methods considering Health & Safety and Quality standards.
7. Planning workspace utilization.
8. Completing quality checks before and after jobs.
9. Minimizing re-work.
10. Servicing the Fitting Shop and meeting production targets.
11. Reporting progress to the Production Manager.
12. Collaborating with management on capabilities and schedules.
13. Monitoring and recording performance metrics to improve efficiency.
14. Streamlining purchasing to reduce costs.
Performance Improvement:
Applying the company's performance management system, supporting staff development, and maintaining high performance standards.
Financial and Resource Management:
Ensuring operational efficiency, cost management, and innovative service improvements.
People Management:
Providing leadership, fostering teamwork, and promoting continuous improvement.
General Management:
Promoting equality, diversity, health & safety compliance, staff development, and participating in recruitment and disciplinary procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
Upholding company values, ensuring legal health & safety compliance, maintaining high personal standards, and performing other duties as required.
Person Specification:
* Qualifications & Experience: Degree with 2-3 years supervisory experience; on-the-job heavy machinery painting experience.
* Desirable: Management of a Paint Shop, stakeholder advising, management/leadership qualification.
1. Skills & Competencies: Leadership, communication, problem-solving, planning, time management, computer skills.
2. Circumstances: Ability to work flexible hours; work abroad.
