Job Description

Here’s what you’ll do:
We are seeking a Principal Rail RAMS Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative rail team. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape RAMS strategies across high-profile rail projects, ensuring the highest standards of reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety.
As a Principal Engineer, you will:
1. Lead the development and implementation of RAMS strategies for rail projects.
2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate RAMS principles into design and operational phases.
3. Conduct RAMS analyses, including hazard identification, risk assessments, and failure mode analysis.
4. Drive innovation by leveraging cutting-edge tools and methodologies to optimize rail system performance.
5. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

About You
We are looking for a visionary leader with:
10. A degree in Engineering or a related field, with a focus on rail systems or safety engineering.
11. Extensive experience in RAMS engineering within the rail or transportation sector.
12. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in RAMS tools and methodologies.
13. Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring and team development.
14. A commitment to driving sustainable and innovative solutions in rail engineering.
Qualifications
15. Bachelor’s Degree, A degree in a relevant engineering discipline
16. Chartered Status, Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent through professional bodies such as: Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) or Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET
17. RAMS-Specific Certifications, Certification in RAMS methodologies, such as: Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) by ASQ, IEC 61508 or EN 50126/50128/50129 standards training, Functional Safety Certification (e.g., TÜV Rheinland or TÜV SÜD)
18. Health and Safety Certifications, NEBOSH or similar health and safety qualifications and knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management).
