The Role : Graduate Planner
As a Graduate Planner, you will join a structured development programme designed to help you grow quickly and confidently within the Planning profession. Youll work within a multidisciplinary team, gaining experience not only in Development Planning but also in Major Infrastructure, including large:scale renewable Development Consent Order (DCO) projects.
This Graduate Planner opportunity provides full support toward achieving RTPI membership, with a continuously updated APC training programme aligned to industry changes. You will also receive best:practice ISO training, comprehensive project management development, and exposure to award:nominated projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Graduate Planner, your responsibilities will grow progressively as you develop, and may include:
Developing Technical Skills
* Building your technical competence through guided training and on:the:job learning
* Understanding and applying planning principles, practices and procedures
* Preparing letters, reports and documents using established templates
* Undertaking site visits
* Carrying out research and planning appraisals
* Keeping up to date with industry changes and company:wide activities
Supporting Project Delivery
* Working within a defined area of responsibility to support project teams
* Understanding the fundamentals of project management
* Completing assigned tasks within time and budget
* Drafting planning applications, pre:application enquiries and appeals
* Preparing fee proposals to support new business generation
* Reviewing Local Plans and monitoring their progress
* Assisting clients throughout the planning process
* Supporting community engagement, committee meetings and examinations
* Communicating effectively with all planning stakeholders
About You
* An RTPI:accredited degree or masters (or be studying toward one)
* Applications also welcomed from non:accredited degrees with a genuine interest in planning/property
* A proactive and ambitious mindset
* Strong communication and writing skills
* Willingness to develop professionally and contribute to team success
* Ability to plan and manage workload within set deadlines
