Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Solihull (Hybrid Working)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team at our Solihull Headquarters. This is a key role in supporting the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, helping us to understand the performance of multiple products and services across the business.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider Finance team, you'll assist in the preparation of management accounts, process accruals and prepayments, and analyse data to ensure revenue and costs are accurately matched within the correct periods.

What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
* Assisting with the preparation and reporting of monthly Management Accounts.
* Posting accruals, prepayments, revenue accruals, and deferrals.
* Matching costs to revenue to ensure accurate financial reporting.
* Performing variance analysis with insightful commentary.
* Investigating discrepancies and liaising with internal departments to resolve queries.
* Preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
* Supporting the production of the Management Accounts pack, including commentary by product line.
* Collaborating cross-departmentally to resolve financial issues.
* Ad-hoc finance tasks and support as required.
* Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking a motivated and reliable individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers. You’ll need to be confident working independently and in a team, capable of meeting deadlines, and comfortable analysing data to draw accurate conclusions.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
✅ Essential:
* Previous experience working in a Finance team.
* Actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF statements).
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
✅ Desirable:
* Experience using Sage 200 (or similar finance software).
* Confidence in completing complex tasks and financial projects.
* Curious, eager to learn, and willing to go the extra mile.
* Approachable, dependable, and collaborative in nature.
