Join to apply for the Named Midwife for Safeguarding role at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
As the Named Midwife for Safeguarding you will support the Head of Safeguarding to implement legal safeguarding practices across the Trust, protecting vulnerable children and families and guiding staff to meet statutory duties under the Care Act, Children’s Act, and Mental Capacity Act.
This role offers meaningful leadership, positive change, and the opportunity to be pivotal in ensuring safety and dignity for those at risk.
Key Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with the Named Doctors for Safeguarding Children & Young People to uphold statutory responsibilities in safeguarding children, aligning with the national safeguarding frameworks.
* Engage in partnership work, including local Safeguarding Children’s Boards sub‑groups, to maintain robust safeguarding systems across the Trust.
* Provide expert advice to the Trust Board on Child Protection and safeguarding matters.
* Support the safeguarding team in delivering high‑quality services and in implementing new and existing policies and procedures.
* Advise police, social care and other agencies on safeguarding matters relating to children in hospital settings and outreach services.
* Offer guidance and support to professionals and carers on safeguarding vulnerable patients, aligning with local and national strategies.
