This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business where you will play a key role in maintaining, improving and developing site equipment to maximise performance, reliability and efficiency.If you're an engineer who enjoys fault finding, preventative maintenance and working with automated machinery, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll Be Working OnOur engineering team maintains and supports a wide range of production and automation equipment, including:Fruit grading equipmentFlow wrapping machinesRobotic case packersStrappersPalletisersConveyorsPumpsThis role offers excellent exposure to automated production systems, fault finding and continuous improvement projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.What You'll Be DoingAs a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will support the smooth running of our production and packing operations by ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standards.Your responsibilities will include:Carrying out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across site equipment and machineryDiagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectivelySupporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliabilityWorking closely with production teams to plan maintenance activities and minimise operational disruptionAssisting with equipment upgrades, installations and commissioning projectsMaintaining accurate maintenance records using CMMS systemsManaging critical spare parts inventory and sourcing replacement components when requiredEnsuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and health and safety legislationSupporting root cause analysis and implementing long-term corrective actions following equipment failuresWhat We're Looking ForEssential:Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer or Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, food processing or similar environmentStrong electrical engineering background with mechanical maintenance capabilityRecognised engineering qualification such as:Electrical ApprenticeshipCity & GuildsONC/HNCNVQ Level 318th EditionEquivalent engineering qualificationPLC fault finding and diagnostic experienceStrong problem-solving and fault-finding skillsExperience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)Excellent understanding of health and safety requirementsStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departmentsDesirable:Experience working within food manufacturing, fresh produce, packaging or automated production environmentsContinuous improvement experienceWorking HoursThe role operates on a rotating shift basis, primarily covering:07:00 - 19:0012:00 - 00:00Some 09:00 - 21:00 shifts may be required during quieter operational periods.Salary£57,750 per annumWhat We OfferAdditional holiday entitlement awarded for long serviceCompany pension schemeFortnightly payCompany accommodation available where requiredPrivate GP serviceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeEyecare vouchersFree onsite parkingEmployee discount platformExtensive online learning and development platformStudy sponsorship opportunitiesFree English language trainingFree Will Writing opportunitiesWhy Join A C Goatham & Son?This is an opportunity to join a successful and growing family business where engineering plays a critical role in operational success.
