Job Title: Repair Design Engineer
Location: Bristol - Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days On-Site Per Week)
Working Pattern: Full Time
As a Repair Design Engineer, you will support operational Defence customers and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facilities. Your responsibilities include developing, validating, and implementing innovative repair solutions to extend the life of mission-critical components, working with advanced aerospace technology to ensure Rolls-Royce engines remain operational, efficient, and cost-effective.
This role involves working on a diverse range of products, including engines such as Adour, EJ200, RB199, Gem, Gnome, Viper, Spey, MTR390, MT30, Pegasus, TP400, MRTT, and WR21. What You Will Be Doing
As a Repair Design Engineer, your key responsibilities include:
* Defining, developing, and substantiating Repair Instructions and coordinating their implementation with internal and external Repair suppliers.
* Establishing acceptance standards for service-run components and supporting MRO operations in hardware disposition.
* Collaborating with Materials Repair Technology teams to develop and apply innovative repair and inspection technologies.
* Identifying opportunities to reduce repair costs and improve component reliability.
* Driving continuous improvement in processes and tools used for developing and supporting repair instructions.
Who We're Looking For
Our principles include safety, integrity, simplicity, and making a difference. To succeed in this role, you should have:
* A degree in a STEM subject or relevant engineering experience (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical, or Controls).
* A broad understanding of gas turbine technologies (training can be provided).
* Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
* The ability to manage multiple commitments across different customers and timelines.
