Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has become available within the Sexual and Reproductive Health Service for a Band 3 post that combines the roles of Healthcare Support Worker and Administrative Officer, 15 hours per week, as required to meet the needs of the Service.
We are looking to appoint an individual with previous experience in one or both roles who is keen to learn new skills.
The post is based at Penlan Clinic in Carmarthen, with regular work at Llanelli clinic and coverage in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion as needed.
Our team offers services including contraception, STI management, and pregnancy advisory services.
Main duties of the job
Following training, undertake delegated clinical interventions such as:
* Venepuncture
* STI tests on asymptomatic patients
* Pregnancy tests
* Urinalysis
* Physiological observations
* Health promotion advice and support
* Teaching correct condom use
* Obtain specimens for analysis
* Record vital signs
* Support during genital examinations and procedures
In the administrative role, duties include filing, typing, scanning, photocopying, and ordering supplies. The post-holder will also welcome patients, guide them, and answer questions.
