Overview
This role is in support of Cencora's wholesale distribution services in Europe, to ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within corporate guidelines.
Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observe speed limits and other traffic signs, and give due regard to other road users.
* Conduct a daily check to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy, including lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
* Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
* Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle and its cleanliness.
* Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel for the day\'s work.
* Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
* Check all orders shown on the drop sheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
* Collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and return them to the branch as instructed by branch management.
* Promptly and correctly handle damages/breakages, with due regard to special procedures for HazChem.
* Maintain a smart appearance at all times and support good customer relations.
* Be involved in other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by Management.
* Meet all Health & Safety requirements and engage in constant interaction with external customers.
* Regular liaison with other drivers and members of the transport team.
* Level of Decision Making: act on own initiative and work unsupervised; monitor the condition of own vehicle and report damages or faults; serious faults may require the driver to determine the vehicle is not roadworthy; drivers are required to maintain a smart appearance due to constant interaction with external customers.
* Manual Handling: It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are essential requirements of this role. Qualifications & Desirable Skills
* A full driving license relevant to the vehicle driven.
* For insurance purposes, all drivers must be over 21 years of age.
* We assess the risk of applicants with points on their license; this may affect shortlisting decisions.
* Existing employees should update fleet services with any changes to license status (e.g., points, bans).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer care.
* Intermediate numeracy and literacy.
* Desirable: Previous multi-drop delivery driving experience.
* Desirable: Route planning experience.
