University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of the Respiratory Physiology Department (Adults) at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). We are recruiting for a full‑time permanent Band 5 Respiratory Physiologist. As a department we provide a wide range of respiratory diagnostic tests for both inpatients and outpatients across two sites.
Located on the south coast with an international airport and direct rail links to London, Southampton offers an ideal setting to live and work, with the New Forest, South Downs and Jurassic Coast.

* FeNO
* Spirometry (including assessment of bronchodilator response)
* Gas Transfer

* 6‑minute walking test

Interpretation of some or all of these tests is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will complete in‑house Band 5 competencies, achieve relevant external qualification(s) for national accreditation, and register on voluntary professional registers (Academy of Healthcare Science).
Applicants will have a special interest in Respiratory Medicine/Lung Function Testing and may already be ARTP accredited or currently completing this process. You must be willing to work towards this accreditation.
The role requires independent travel to work across the two sites: Southampton General Hospital and The Royal South Hants Hospital (base of our Community Diagnostic Centre).
