About the Role
As a Teacher of DT, your responsibilities will include:
• Teaching Design & Technology across KS3–KS4 (with potential KS5 depending on specialism)
• Delivering engaging, practical and theory-based lessons
• Supporting students with coursework, design portfolios and project-based assessments
• Contributing to curriculum development and department resources
• Maintaining high classroom standards and promoting a safe workshop environment
• Collaborating with colleagues on whole-school initiatives and enrichment activities
• Playing an active role in supporting STEM clubs, engineering competitions or design projects

Experience and Qualifications
• Degree in DT, Product Design, Engineering or related subject
• PGCE with QTS
• Strong practical skills and confidence using workshop machinery
• Ability to teach DT at KS3/KS4 (KS5 desirable)
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Commitment to high standards, student progress and continuous improvement
Salary
Paid to scale (MPS/UPS), with additional allowances available for suitable candidates.
