About the Role
The Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) sanctions team manages due diligence, sanctions compliance, and regulatory changes. The role supports GCIB’s global footprint across the US, EMEA, Asia‑Pacific, Canada, and Latin America.
Key Responsibilities
* Review due diligence for clients with exposure to economic sanctions in the EMEA region.
* Consult with deal teams on sanctions assessments of deals.
* Ensure GCIB compliance by executing screening assessments, implementing new sanctions requirements, and managing time‑sensitive mandates.
* Participate in ad‑hoc projects for internal processes, regulatory or industry initiatives.
* Act as point of contact for bankers and senior GCIB management on sanctions matters.
* Balance global and regional priorities while monitoring performance of key controls and metrics.
* Track regulatory changes affecting GCIB in EMEA, update business leaders, and drive policy or procedural updates.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree requirement.
* Direct experience in a global financial crime or sanctions role.
* Strong leadership qualities and result‑driven approach.
* Ability to operate independently and collaborate with bankers, risk partners, and regulators/auditors.
* Understanding of investment banking, capital markets, corporate banking, and commercial leasing products.
* Experience drafting clear FLU reviews and providing recommendations.
* Control‑focused mindset with awareness of regulatory and reputational risks.
* Excellent communication skills, including presentation to audiences.
* Strong multitasking and time‑management abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure in a team environment.
* Self‑motivated, dedicated, and eager to excel consistently.
