Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? We're seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant in High Wycombe to support pupils with a wide range of complex needs across one of three welcoming and inclusive school sites.
Children at this setting present with a variety of needs including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), speech, language and communication needs (SLCN), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities, and associated medical or personal care requirements.
About The Role
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
* Be based at one of three specialist sites in High Wycombe, depending on school needs and your experience.
* Provide tailored one‑to‑one or small group support for children with complex needs including PMLD, ASD, SEMH, physical disabilities, and SLCN.
* Assist with curriculum delivery, adapting learning resources and activities to support individual educational plans.
* Support students with daily care routines such as feeding, toileting, and mobility-ensuring dignity, safety and encouragement.
* Use specialist strategies, including sensory support, visuals and behavioural frameworks, to create calm, engaging learning environments.
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to help implement EHCPs and contribute to progress monitoring.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
We are looking for a compassionate, adaptable professional who:
* Has experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly those with PMLD, ASD, physical or medical needs, or behaviours linked to SEMH.
* Understands how to implement strategies for communication, sensory regulation and personal care with sensitivity.
* Communicates effectively with students, staff, and families, and can contribute confidently to multi-disciplinary meetings.
* Is flexible to work at any of the three sites in High Wycombe, depending on placement and student needs.
* Holds a full UK driving licence or is confident using local transport links between school sites.
Why This Role?
* Join a well-established team supporting a broad and diverse pupil community across three specialist school sites in High Wycombe.
* As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you'll play a key role in shaping the daily experiences of young people with complex needs.
* Be part of a collaborative environment that supports continued learning and personal development.
Benefits Of Working Via SENDHelp
* Competitive pay rates and full PAYE payments-no umbrella fees or unexpected deductions.
* Access to high-quality training in areas such as safeguarding, de-escalation strategies, and SEN pedagogy.
* Complimentary trial days and long-term placements tailored to your strengths and preferences.
* A dedicated SEND consultant supporting you throughout your placement.
* Opportunities for further CPD and career progression in specialist education.
