Job overview This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. An exciting opportunity has arisen within General Surgery Planned Care Admissions Lounge for a Booking Co-ordinator. The successful candidate must have a flexible approach, possess excellent communication skills, must be reliable, well organised and able to work as part of a team or independently. Duties will include but not limited to: booking of appointments, managing waiting lists, answering the telephone, preparation of clinic notes including E-notes, outcoming clinics and admitting and discharging patients on BEA. This role has been approved for advertising; however, it is also being assessed as a suitable alternative employment opportunity. As a result, the vacancy may be withdrawn or there may be a delay before shortlisting can begin. This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Advert Chase up pre operation notes. Check the galaxy list and prep the notes 2 weeks in advance. Prepare front sheet, labels and wristbands ready for the notes to be completed. Compile admission notes and place in a green folder. Tracer notes and patients when they go to theatre so there is always a trail to keep computer systems up to date. Communicate with the medical secretary's about incoming patients or cancellation of patients which then require new add ons. Alert Nursing staff to any patients who have additional needs. Check on CORE if patient has any additional issues like allergy's or learning disability's etc. Update on PAS, pre op assessment notes and add to main notes. Admit the patients to the lounge on arrival. Be present to patients in the admissions lounge and available to answer any queries.
