What does the team do?
The software development teams work on diverse projects, from portfolio management tools for traders to backend integrations and client-facing portals, using various technologies to solve different problems. Projects range from small enhancements to large new systems impacting the entire business.
What you'll be doing
Participate in a 36-month skills development programme, including support to study for a Level 6 Software Development apprenticeship. Details on this qualification will follow.
You will receive on-the-job training and coaching from experienced specialists and complete the Level 6 Software Development apprenticeship, equipping you with the skills to address real business challenges.
During your apprenticeship, you will:
* Spend 20% of your time in formal training
* Use various tools and programming languages as needed
* Follow application and component design standards
* Propose and discuss solutions with senior developers
* Adhere to coding standards and quality measures
* Provide third-line support when required
* Contribute to team ownership of platforms and systems
* Test code according to guidelines
* Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
* Participate actively in team meetings and knowledge sharing
* Communicate effectively and collaborate to support delivery and feedback
* Ensure fair treatment of customers and stakeholders in line with company principles
What we're looking for
This programme is ideal for individuals eager to learn and start a career in software development, even without prior experience. We value enthusiasm, curiosity, and a genuine interest in the field.
To qualify, you need:
* GCSEs at grades 4-9 (A-C) in Maths and English or equivalent
* At least 96 UCAS points or equivalent level 3 qualification (e.g., A-Levels)
* Not currently enrolled in a government-funded training course
* The right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK or EEA for the past 3 years
* No previous study of Software Development at level 4 or above
Note: We cannot accept candidates with degrees for this apprenticeship.
