What you will do
We have an excellent opportunity for a trainee to learn all about the wonderful world of HGV Vehicle Parts.
Full time permanent position Mon- Fri 44 hours - 08.00-17.00 (Sat overtime will be available once established in the role)
Paying up to £27,500 (dependent on age) plus overtime at time and a half
Role:
You will be trained in how to deliver an excellent service supplying HGV parts to customers both over the counter and by telephone, as well as issuing the correct parts orders for HGV Technicians who are carrying out repair and maintenance to vehicles in the workshop
What you will be doing.....
1. Receiving deliveries, mark off and store parts in stockroom according to prearranged systems.
2. Locating and label parts and maintain inventory of stock.
3. Regular inventory stock counts.
4. Consistently maintaining a good standard of housekeeping in the Parts Department.
5. Report stock shortages to parts supervisor.
6. Ensuring that all parts and old units returned are labelled and packed properly and all relevant paperwork correctly completed.
7. Discussing the use and features of various parts with customers, based on knowledge of trucks and buses.
8. Accurately compile parts from job cards for repairs being carried out in the workshop.
9. Proactively selling parts and promotions to customers.
10. To work with Parts Supervisor to achieve their maximum competency level.
11. Pick up and deliver parts on occasion.
Skills and Experience Required:
12. Driving Licence required
13. Able to identify different parts using catalogues and systems.
14. Numerical ability to be able to work with part numbers.
15. To be able to effectively communicate at all levels both written and verbally with people inside the organisation as well as external customers.
16. Selling/influencing others to buy additional parts.
17. Documenting/recording information.
18. IT literate to competently use DMS and associated software & systems.
