The role focuses on energy transition and energy security projects, developing robust electrical power system designs to support process design requirements across large industrial installations.
This role would suit a highly experienced electrical engineer with a strong background in industrial power system design, particularly within the energy, oil & gas, or defence sectors. It is ideal for someone comfortable working autonomously on complex projects, and who has hands-on experience with high voltage equipment and power system analysis tools.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed electrical power system designs to support process engineering requirements
Undertake or review power system studies and calculations using ETAP
Specify and size high-voltage electrical equipment and power systems (AC/DC UPS, frequency converters, etc.)
Prepare design philosophies, technical specifications, and provide input into project estimates
Provide engineering leadership across projects involving hydrogen, ammonia, LNG, or refining sectors
Ideal Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Long-term contract (12 months +) with potential for extension
Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge energy transition and security initiatives
Flexible work arrangements depending on project requirements (3 days in office remainder hybrid)
Work within a high-calibre engineering team on high-impact projects
In return you'll receive an hourly rate up to £62.00 per hour (client has deemed the role to be outside of IR35 but individual determination will still be required).
