Stoke‑on‑Trent City Council – Children and Family Services – Children’s Social Care – Level 8 – 37 hours per week.
We are looking for a dynamic professional to fulfil the role of House Project Facilitator. The House Project is part of the leaving‑care service and supports care‑experienced young people as they transition from care into their own homes and into a community of support beyond the age of 18. It is a registered supported accommodation provider for those living in homes under 18.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver group work sessions for care‑experienced young people.
* Facilitate community projects that build skills, confidence, and independence.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with young people through a non‑judgemental and anti‑discriminatory approach.
* Support individuals in setting and achieving personal and educational goals.
* Work collaboratively with team members to create a supportive environment and maintain safeguarding standards.
Qualifications
* Experience working directly with young people, preferably those with care experience.
* Strong understanding of how trauma and adversity can impact children and young people and ability to apply this knowledge in a practical way.
* Knowledge of the challenges faced by care leavers and the support and opportunities that enable them to thrive.
* Organised, proactive and able to manage own workload while contributing effectively to a team.
* Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for young people and fostering independence, confidence and life skills.
