Job Description
The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it’s a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly.
We’ve formed a Joint Venture project called Connect Plus Services (CPS) to work with our partners to widen, operate and maintain the M25 under a 30-year contract and looking for a Fleet and Plant Manager to be responsible for all functions of the Connect Plus Services fleet operation in support of the contract. Providing the focal point for the provision, use and safety of vehicles, plant and lifting, equipment and operators.
* Be the first point of contact for all transport, plant and fleet activities across the M25 DFBO network, providing technical advice as required.
* Take ownership and responsibility for all fleet, plant and transport across the M25 DBFO network.
* Ensure legal and operational efficiency, safety and compliance of the commercial fleet and drivers.
* Be the escalation and authority point for commercial vehicle maintenance and transport compliance.
* Provide operational depots support with vehicle, driver and O licence issues Identify opportunities for improvements, efficiencies and cost saving with all aspects of transport, fleet and plant.
* Support operational managers with investigations into transport compliance related issues and assist with installing measures to prevent re-occurrence.
* Carry out regular documented visit’s to all operational depots and conduct regular documented review meetings with operational management teams and internal/external suppliers.
Qualifications
Qualifications/ skills: · Project Management Experience preferably supported by recognised Project Management qualification, APM PMQ, PRINCE2, APMP etc · Preference of minimum degree qualification and membership of appropriate professional institution or working towards such qualification · Broad skills, knowledge and understanding of Highway or Structures Engineering and associated design areas · Knowledge of CDM and other H&S and Environmental legislation related to Highway Engineering · Knowledge of the NEC (New Engineering Contract) and other relevant forms of contract Personal Attributes: · Proactive problem solving · Excellent communication and collaboration skills · Strong safety management culture · Ability to prioritise and self-manage · Self aware and adaptable style to meet varying project needs · Demonstration of commitment to ongoing personal development via CPD · Good organisational skills
