Veterinary Surgeon – Full Time

This thriving and expanding practice is proudly run by a vet who leads a talented and supportive team of five, Among them are a certificate holder in medicine, another in feline medicine, and a vet currently working towards a surgical certificate. They’re joined by six RVNs and two SVNs, many of whom began their careers as receptionists and have since qualified through in-practice training and support.
The clinical team is backed by an exceptional group of receptionists and a dedicated Business Manager, who ensures everything runs smoothly.
They are more than just colleagues — but a close-knit, community-focused team that values well-being, respect, and professional growth. Two of the team members are also trained Mental Health First Aiders, reflecting the commitment to supporting one another.
The Role and You
Looking for a well-rounded Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys a mix of consultations and routine surgery. You’ll be working in a supportive environment alongside experienced clinicians and certificate holders, so they are open to applications from vets with a range of experience levels, provided you have a solid grounding in small animal GP practice.
The rota system is designed with work-life balance in mind. Hours are flexible, but rotas are set around team’s preferences, so you’ll always know your schedule well in advance. The weekend rota is just 1 in 6, with Saturdays from 9am–5pm and Sundays from 10:30am–4pm.
Days are structured to help you thrive, with 15-minute consultations, regular admin time, and monthly team and clinical meetings to encourage collaboration and shared learning.
They offer a competitive salary of up to £65,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. This includes no out-of-hours work, five weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays, and paid professional memberships (RCVS, BSAVA, BVA). You’ll also have a dedicated CPD allowance, with funding available for certificates if you’d like to develop further.
