As the DSL, you will have strategic and operational responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across all three school campuses. You will lead on complex and high‑risk safeguarding cases, working closely with pupils who present challenging behaviour and have experienced trauma, families, staff, and a wide range of external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for our children.

Key Responsibilities

* Act as the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing expert leadership on all safeguarding and child protection matters
* Manage and oversee complex and challenging safeguarding cases, including contextual safeguarding, exploitation, criminal and sexual abuse, neglect, and mental health concerns
* Liaise effectively with children’s social care, police, health professionals and other external agencies
* Ensure safeguarding policies, procedures and practice are robust, compliant and consistently applied
* Maintain accurate, timely and confidential safeguarding records in line with statutory guidance
* Provide advice, guidance and training to staff, supporting a strong, confident safeguarding culture
* Contribute to leadership decision‑making with a clear focus on pupil safety, wellbeing and inclusion

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have substantial experience working with complex safeguarding cases, ideally within education, SEMH or specialist provision, and will hold or be willing to obtain accredited Designated Safeguarding Lead training.

Core Values

* Community – working collaboratively with families, staff, agencies and commissioners
* Aspiration – championing the right of every pupil to safety, stability and positive futures
* Resilience – supporting children and staff through challenge, trauma and change
* Empathy – placing understanding, compassion and relationships at the centre of practice

Benefits

* Exclusive access to reward and discount scheme
* Comprehensive induction
* Blue Light Card
* Commitment to ongoing training and career progression
* Pay for enhanced DBS checks
* Wellbeing support
* Cycle to work scheme and more

Above all, we provide a supportive and collaborative working environment where you can flourish in your career and feel incredibly rewarded by helping those who need it most.

Please note we may close the advert early if a suitable candidate is appointed.
