Role: Interim Finance Assistant
Location: Manchester (Hybrid, 2 days per week in the office)
Duration: 3 months initially, likely to extend to 6 months
Pay Rate : £230 per day inside IR35
We are seeking a proactive, detail focused Finance Assistant to join our Manchester finance team on an interim basis. This role supports the delivery of high-quality finance and procurement services across the organisation. You will play an important part in maintaining effective financial processes, supplier management, and strong organisational controls.
This is a hands-on opportunity within a collaborative, forward thinking finance function.

Key Accountabilities of the interim finance assistant :
Financial operations
• Support accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing
• Provide clear and reliable financial information to support business needs
• Prepare bank reconciliations and related banking journals
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
Procurement and controls
• Support procurement and commissioning activity, ensuring compliance and value for money
• Maintain high quality financial documentation and audit trails
• Help strengthen financial controls, processes, and reporting
Business support
• Manage shared finance inboxes and respond to queries promptly
• Build strong working relationships across the organisation
• Provide clear financial guidance to internal and external stakeholders
What we are looking for
You will be organised, accurate, and comfortable working with financial data and systems.
Skills and experience
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience, studying towards a CCAB qualification preferred
• Strong experience in financial transaction processing
• Confident using spreadsheets, finance systems, and data tools
• Able to interpret policy and present information clearly to non-finance colleagues
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Able to work independently and within a team
