Our client is a well-established specialist machinery manufacturer and is looking to recruit a Skilled Mechanical Fitter to support the build and installation of bespoke friction welding machinery. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex, high-value equipment in a hands-on engineering environment with international travel and long-term progression.
đź› The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, build, installation, and commissioning of friction welding machinery. Working closely with Design and Engineering teams, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects from workshop build through to customer handover.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assembly and fitting of machine sub-assemblies including spindles, clamps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and lubrication systems
2. Reading and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
3. Installation of hydraulic, lubrication, and pneumatic systems
4. On-site installation, upgrades, and repairs at customer sites in the UK and worldwide
5. Operating machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, and grinders
6. Inspection of components using
