Assistant Management Accountant

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to support the financial management of the Ringway Jacobs Essex County Council (ECC) contract. This key role involves providing accounting support, financial guidance, and oversight to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
You will assist in preparing the monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Management Pack, and client applications, while working closely with budget holders, senior management, and the client to support effective and efficient contract performance. The Role
•Supporting the Contract Accountants and Commercial team in the preparation of the monthly Application to the client
•Support the production of the Profit and Loss & Balance Sheet to ensure accurate recording of costs in accordance with accounting practices and principles, including the reconciliation of Accrued Income/Work In Progress
•Supporting the Contract Accountants and Commercial team in the preparation of the monthly Application to the client.
•Business partner to Contract Managers, advising on financial aspects to improve efficiency and performance
•Support in the production of key contract finance reports, for Senior Management, including the monthly contract / management accounts pack
About You
Experience in finance or management accounting roles, including producing Profit & Loss accounts and Balance Sheets (preferred but not essential)
Experience in preparing and monitoring financial reports, budgets, and forecasts (preferred but not essential)
Studying towards a recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (preferred but not essential)
Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is advantageous
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
