Position
Clerical Officer – Radiology Department – Glasgow (Part‑time, 20 hours per week).
Location: Glasgow Royal Infirmary (x‑ray department) with coverage required at Stobhill ACH, Glasgow Dental Hospital and other GGC imaging departments as needed.
Working Patterns
* Base location: Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
* Part‑time permanent position, 20 hours per week.
* Shift pattern: Monday to Friday, 4pm to 8pm. Open to job share; applicants may indicate preferred days.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide efficient reception and clerical support service within the Radiology Department.
* Update Radiology computer system (RIS) – register confidential patient data and update demographics accurately.
* Maintain patient demographics, appointments, waiting lists and tracking information to provide complete audit trails.
* Coordinate CRIS diaries alongside radiologist and radiographer sessions after distribution of the weekly rota to ensure session utilisation and National Waiting Time Guarantees.
* Coordinate patient appointment letters and relevant preparation information, including fasting instructions, in line with NHS Government waiting time regulations.
* Communicate with patients regarding changes, cancellations, and transport arrangements; respond to concerns in a sympathetic, professional and diplomatic manner.
Qualifications, Training and Experience
* Previous clerical or administrative experience in a healthcare setting desirable.
* Knowledge of patient information systems (RIS, CRIS) and ability to maintain accurate records.
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service orientation.
