About Our Client
My client is a specialist financial services organisation, with this particular role based at their Whiteley site (hybrid). they have 7 other offices across Europe, the US and Asia.
Job Description
Your role may include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks which we call 'Defined Business Activities'. The list of defined business activities is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time:Supervision
3. Supervise more junior members of staff
4. Assist with the management of the workflow of junior team members
5. Delegate tasks to more junior members of staff
6. Review all out going correspondence by direct reporting junior team members
7. Assist with the development/enhancement of team specific procedures
8. Assist with and if appropriate conduct appraisals for direct reporting team members
Time Management
9. Plan and prioritise own and team workflow
10. Deal with matters in a timely manner
Accounting
11. Review of Accounts and preparation of complex set of accounts
12. Manage the quarterly reporting and annual reporting cycles
13. Manage the process of VAT returns
14. Manage the client billing process for the team
Other
15. Assist with the creation and maintenance of client specific accounting procedures
16. Liaise with external contacts to obtain and provide required information
17. Attend client meetings in respect of accounting matters as required
18. Communicate to directors regarding outstanding work and situations involving the accounts department and its clients
19. Assist the Manager in analysing clients' key performance indicators for submission with the management accounts
20. Assist with and contribute to ad hoc projects as required
The Successful Applicant
The right candidate will either be from a chartered accountancy background or indeed from a relevant accounting background within financial services.You will also hold a recognised accounting qualification.
