Based in Sheffield, this is a key position within the business, responsible for leading MEP BIM coordination across multiple projects while supporting quality, consistency, and the development of junior team members. The role suits a proactive individual with strong coordination experience, a solid understanding of BIM processes, and a genuine interest in improving standards, workflows, and digital delivery.
Role Overview
The BIM Coordinator will lead and manage MEP BIM delivery across a range of projects, ensuring mechanical, electrical, and public health systems are fully coordinated and clash-free. Working closely with internal engineering teams and external consultants, the role involves coordinating model inputs, undertaking clash detection, leading coordination reviews, and maintaining models to the required level of detail throughout all project stages. All deliverables must align with project information requirements, BIM Execution Plans, and internal MEP standards.
Quality & Technical Oversight
The role includes ownership of MEP model and drawing quality, reviewing and checking outputs produced by others to ensure technical accuracy, spatial coordination, and compliance with standards and specifications. The successful candidate will actively support continuous improvement in model quality, efficiency, and consistency.
Leadership & Collaboration
The BIM Coordinator will provide day-to-day technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff, support workload and resource planning, and coordinate internal and external resources to meet project programmes. Acting as a key point of contact for MEP coordination, they will work closely with engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants to resolve coordination issues and support collaborative working practices.
Digital Standards & Development
The role contributes to the development and implementation of BIM standards, templates, and digital content, as well as the assessment and use of automation tools and software add-ons to improve delivery efficiency. The BIM Coordinator will also support ongoing digital strategy development and innovation initiatives across the business.
Skills & Experience
Candidates will have significant experience in an MEP BIM Coordinator or similar role, with strong technical knowledge of building services systems and multidisciplinary coordination. Advanced experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud is essential, along with proven clash detection and model review experience. Strong organisational and communication skills are required, with experience working to UK BIM standards such as ISO 19650, and knowledge of IFC or COBie, considered advantageous.
