What You’ll Do
As a Check Manager, you will oversee and manage all aspects of aircraft maintenance checks, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently and in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. You will act as the primary contact for internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and delivery of projects on time.
Responsibilities
* Plan, organize and oversee maintenance, ensuring they are performed at the highest standard.
* Lead and manage employees within their agreed area of responsibility providing clear instructions and support.
* Issue certificates of release to service for the specific aircraft type within the scope of limitations of their Staff Authorization Document.
* Conduct daily briefings, allocate tasks and monitor progress to ensure targets are met.
* Provide regular progress updates to the Base Maintenance Manager (BMM) and Senior Management as required.
* Escalate any critical issues promptly and provide recommendations for resolution.
* Devise and implement solutions to ensure maintenance is completed on time while adhering to established budget constraints.
* Ensure a daily progress report is issued for the aircraft under maintenance to the customer, customer representative, and to the internal DSR email address.
* Responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy and integrity of all work performed under their supervision.
* Responsible for overseeing the conduct and punctuality of assigned employees within their area of responsibility.
* Ensure that good housekeeping standards are maintained within the Teesside maintenance facility.
* Ensure all husbandry and tool audits are completed and properly documented.
* Conduct formal appraisals and competency assessments for employees within their area of responsibility and provide recommendations to the Base Maintenance Manager regarding further training and individual development opportunities.
* Promote a culture of safety, ensuring all activities comply with H&S policies and procedures; actively promote the reporting of occurrences and potential hazards and adopt continuous improvement and human factors principles.
* Provide support for quality audits and assist in developing and implementing effective closure plans on any audit findings.
* Maintain the shift roster to support assigned maintenance activities.
* Ensure that all personal and company tooling & equipment are controlled and used by maintenance personnel in accordance with company requirements detailed within MOE.
* In the absence of the BMM, conduct and approve Alternative Tooling Equivalence Assessments in accordance with MOE 2.6.6.
* Ensure that company information (e.g. quality bulletins, memo’s, safety notices) is briefed to (e.g. toolbox talk) and circulated amongst all maintenance personnel as appropriate.
* Collaborate with the Ground Handling team to ensure aircraft movements in and out of the hangar are performed in a timely manner.
* Perform any additional duties or tasks as directed by the BMM.
Requirements
* Valid UK Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance License (AML) Category B and must hold C certification by aircraft type.
* Must hold a B737 and/or A320 aircraft type rating.
* Minimum of 5 years Base Maintenance experience as a B1 and/or B2 certifying engineer.
* Effective leadership, management, collaboration and communication skills with the ability to influence others.
* Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance practices.
* Technical knowledge representative of the products/types listed in WASL MOE (e.g. AML Type Ratings, general familiarization courses and/or related experience).
* Comprehensive knowledge (training) and understanding of Part-145 and any associated regulatory requirements.
* Comprehensive knowledge (training) and understanding of Maintenance Organization Expositions (MOE).
* Knowledge of maintenance standards.
* Initial Human Factors (HF) training.
* Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) training.
* Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) training.
* English Language proficiency (written & spoken).
