As part of our growth, we are seeking a Head of Sales & Projects to lead our sales team, oversee project delivery, and help us achieve ambitious business objectives.
Role Overview
The Head of Sales & Projects will play a pivotal role in driving sales performance, managing project delivery, and leading a team of surveyors and support staff. This is a hands-on leadership position, balancing line management with the responsibility of managing your own portfolio of high-value and complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and supervise a team of five surveyors and two office-based staff (sales and administrative support).
* Monitor and support surveyors in managing their project portfolios, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
* Provide training, coaching, and guidance to help the sales team achieve individual and collective sales targets.
* Oversee all projects to ensure:
* Correct methodologies are applied and quoted for
* Sales margins are met
* Projects comply with industry standards
* Client satisfaction remains at the highest level
* Manage surveyor schedules fairly, allocating work based on skills and workload.
* Drive productivity and efficiency improvements across the sales and project teams.
* Ensure all staff follow best practices, procedures, and company standards.
* Maintain integrity and accuracy of company data and client information.
* Personally manage a portfolio of complex and commercial projects.
* Foster cross-department collaboration and encourage collective achievement of company goals.
* Support the Managing Director in winning new clients and maintaining strong industry relationships.
* Protect and grow the company brand by upholding its reputation for quality and integrity.
* Continuously identify opportunities for business improvement across methodologies, systems, processes, and services.
What We're Looking For
* Proven leadership experience, ideally within construction, property services, or damp proofing sectors.
* Strong track record of driving sales performance and delivering complex projects.
* Excellent people management and coaching skills, with experience leading technical and sales teams.
* Commercially astute with the ability to balance profitability, quality, and client satisfaction.
* Highly organised, analytical, and process-driven.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of a business.
Qualifications & Skills
* Proven experience in sales and project management, ideally within the construction, damp proofing, or property maintenance sectors.
* Strong technical understanding of damp proofing methods, structural waterproofing, and related remedial works.
* Knowledge of relevant building regulations and health & safety requirements.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.
* Proficiency in MS Office, CRM systems, and project management tools.
* Full UK driving licence.
