An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Centre as an Assistant Operations Manager. This role offers the chance to be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking operational team, committed to delivering the strategic and operational objectives outlined in the Operational Delivery Plan, with a focus on patient care and Tier 1 priorities.
Working closely with both Operational and Clinical Leads, the post holder will support the day-to-day operational management of services across Acute Medicine and the Emergency Department. The role requires the ability to build and maintain effective relationships, enabling delivery against a range of priorities in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for a committed, adaptable, and proactive individual with a genuine passion for supporting multidisciplinary teams (MDTs). The successful candidate will contribute to the operational, workforce, and financial performance of the Emergency Centre, collaborating with colleagues across other divisions and departments, while maintaining a visible and supportive presence within clinical areas.
This role will require cross-site working across both the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) and the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) throughout the working week.
Main duties of the job
Working closely with the Operations Managers, Centre Manager & Clinical Directors for the specialties, the post holder is responsible for supporting the Centre Manager and Operations Manager in managing the business activities of the service area to ensure delivery of its strategic and operational objectives in line with the Operational Delivery Plan and Accountability Agreement.
You will have a project to lead on and service areas that you will be responsible for.
The post holder will work closely with the Operations Managers and Centre Manager to ensure efficient and effective management of all resources to deliver safe, high-quality, and effective clinical services in an environment of continuous improvement.
The post holder will collaborate with other centres and Divisional leads to deliver the Trust's overall strategic objectives, with a key focus on the patient experience.
A critical aspect of this role involves fostering strong communication and collaborative working relationships with Matrons, Clinical Directors, and wider clinical and non-clinical teams, as well as with key internal and external stakeholders.
All duties must be undertaken in line with the Department of Health's Code of Conduct for NHS Managers and in accordance with the Trust's values, upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability.
