Person works with LifeScan maintenance team, whilst recieving academic qalifications from the UHI to recieve a Modern Apprenticeship and a minimum of a HNC in Engineering Systems. Academic qualifications beyond HNC is possible with the correct entry requirements and aspirations of the candidate. Program will run for 4 years for external applicants and 3 years for internal applicants. The first year for both internal and extrnal is 100% at the UHI during term time, and the following years are day release as required. Whilst onsite Engineering apprentices are expected to work closely with the maintenance team, learning fault finding on a variety of high volume, bespoke manufacturing nodes. Mechanical, electrical and controls disciplines will be developed to varying degrees dependent on aptitude of apprentices. Apprentices will also be expected to provide accurate recording of any work completed and support the delivery of continuous improvement projects where required
