We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a specialist educational setting in Morpeth, Northumberland. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people aged 2–19 years with a range of additional learning needs. You will play a vital role in helping students access education, develop independence, and achieve their personal goals in a safe, inclusive environment. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support across early years, primary, and secondary age groups Assist teachers in delivering differentiated and engaging learning activities Support students with a variety of needs including SEND, communication difficulties, and social/emotional needs Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation Support personal care where required Monitor and record student progress Foster independence, confidence, and life skills The Ideal Candidate Experience working with children or young people (education, care, or youth work setting) A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to adapt to different age groups and learning needs Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable but not essential) Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) What We Offer Competitive pay rates Ongoing professional development and training Supportive leadership and team environment The opportunity to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives Why Work with Leader Education?
