Clearly Education is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant in Peterborough to work in schools across Peterborough and surrounding areas. This role is ideal for someone who loves helping children succeed and is open to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you’ll work alongside teachers and SEN teams to provide individual and small-group support, helping pupils overcome barriers to learning. You’ll play a vital role in creating a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child can flourish.
Key Responsibilities of a Learning Support Assistant:
* Provide targeted support to pupils with SEN, helping them stay engaged and make progress
* Work with teachers to deliver lessons and classroom activities
* Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
* Encourage confidence, communication, and personal growth in pupils
* Support the social and emotional development of children
* Maintain professional relationships with staff, pupils, and parents
* Follow safeguarding procedures, including Prevent and FGM awareness
* Be adaptable and open to placements across schools in Peterborough and the local area
Requirements of a Learning Support Assistant :
* Experience working with children or young people (essential)
* Enthusiasm for supporting children with additional needs
* Understanding of safeguarding principles (training can be arranged)
* Enhanced DBS (we can help you obtain one)
* Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject preferred
* Paediatric First Aid certificate beneficial
