Overview
Locum Consultant Paediatrician – 6 months (start October 2025). Based in NHS Lanarkshire within Specialist Children’s Health Service Unit, supporting service transformation with a focus on improving patient flow and the patient journey, and on Hospital at Home (Paediatrics).
The successful applicant will join the existing Hospital at Home team and be involved in implementing the service while developing and reviewing existing provision and managing these patients.
Responsibilities
* Work in Acute Paediatric services with current acute consultants to identify, prepare and support patients for Hospital at Home on a daily basis.
* Contribute to hospital-level care across acute and community settings; participate in inpatient and triage ward activity.
* Provide cover for Hospital at Home and triage services; include one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday, 2–8pm).
* Allocate time for own appraisal (1 SPA) and administrative/service development tasks.
* Review Hospital at Home patients as required by the service.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and a licence to practise; membership of the RCPCPH; registered with the GMC and on the specialist register or within 6 months of anticipated award of a CCT or CESR (CP) at interview time.
