Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the position of Post Award Manager in the Research Office. The Post Award Manager will play a central role in supporting the Research Office through a period of transformation, providing strong, positive leadership to guide the post award support teams through change and ensuring staff feel supported, informed, and engaged throughout the transition.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the post award support team, providing oversight of a portfolio of the University's externally funded research grants.
* Ensure the provision of a high‑quality professional service to the University, operating an efficient and effective post award function.
* Provide timely and appropriate financial reporting to all levels of the research community and other internal stakeholders.
* Collaborate with Assistant Directors to ensure a seamless transition from award to active management and project close‑out.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree level or equivalent education.
* Proven experience of research grants administration (essential).
* Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to explain complex issues clearly and concisely to senior academic, corporate and government representatives.
* Diplomatic, tactful, detail‑oriented and calm in leadership, especially when guiding teams through transformation.
* Proficiency with Microsoft IT packages.
Working Conditions
The role supports hybrid working. Staff will work onsite in Cambridge for a minimum of two days per week, with remaining time split between in‑person collaboration and remote working. Flexible working arrangements such as part‑time work (minimum 80%) may also be considered.
