1:1 Non-Verbal Specialist Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: Corby, Northamptonshire
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full Time
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 Non-Verbal Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with communication difficulties in a nurturing primary school environment in Corby.
This is a vital role working closely with the child to support their communication, learning, and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support for a pupil who is non-verbal or has significant speech and communication challenges
* Implement tailored communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, or other augmentative communication systems
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external specialists to deliver personalised learning and behaviour plans
* Promote inclusion, independence, and confidence
* Support the pupil throughout the school day, including unstructured times

We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience supporting non-verbal children or those with complex communication needs
* Is skilled in or willing to learn alternative communication methods (e.g. Makaton, PECS)
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approach
* Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and families
* Is passionate about helping children overcome barriers and achieve their potential
