Job brief
Working with the lead drillers and fieldworks team in a construction environment, outdoors.
Assist the lead driller in operating the drilling rig and completing all soil sampling. This involves manual handling, physical digging and operating equipment such as hydraulic breakers, disc cutters, CAT scans etc.
Work throughout the fieldworks department as an operative assisting with tasks such as delivering equipment to site, working with engineers on site completing trialpits and soakaway testing, servicing the rigs, tidying the yard, collecting equipment etc.
Provide fieldworks support to enable the effective and professional delivery of services to our clients.
Contribute to the production of fieldworks data across delivery of projects ie. logs, service records etc.
Average weekly overtime 10 hours at 1.5 x the hourly rate, Monday to Friday weekend work is not the norm
Responsibilities
Liaise with the engineers and supervisors and communicate the project/site conditions as the job is progressing.
Assist the lead driller in obtaining the information required for the daily borehole/site logs and completed drilling pack.
Work with a variety of site investigation / geotechnical equipment to generate the information required.
Ensure that all drilling functions, including quality control, quality assurance and verification are performed in accordance with the standard drilling methods, project specifications, and other contract documents.
Perform yard duties and other duties relating to the running of the business under the direction of the supervisor.
Retrieve/recover soil and rock samples from drilling operations.
Assist with all aspects of work including job set up and site de-mob.
Requirements - Required
· Clean driving licence held for over 2 years.
· Working away from home/overnight when required.
· Work towards obtaining further qualifications and participate in training.
· Clean drugs and alcohol testing records.
· Handling of loads.
· Team player – departments supporting eachother throughout busy periods.
· Be able to interact professionally with others on site ie. engineers, clients, other contractors, etc.

Requirements – To be achieved if not held at outset
· Towing experience.
· CSCS.
· Construction or engineering experience.
· NVQ L2 in Land Drilling.
· CAT scan training.
· Aquam Clean Water certificate.
· Other training as required by the business to maintain standards, accreditations and meet client demand.
Pay - Ranged based on experiance
