Join Our Team as a Family Help - School and Community Practitioner

Are you passionate about supporting children and families to thrive in their communities? Do you want to be part of a service that places early intervention, relationships, and family-led solutions at the heart of everything we do?

We’re looking for a Family Help - School and Community Practitioner to join our dedicated team in East Riding of Yorkshire Council. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with schools, colleges, and community partners to support children and families at key transition points and help prevent needs from escalating.

About the Role

As a School and Community Practitioner, you'll be the key link between early help and education settings, providing advice, guidance, and support to families and professionals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide early intervention and parenting support in schools, homes, and community settings.
2. Support schools to deliver the Family Help offer and promote positive engagement.
3. Attend multi-agency meetings and contribute to assessments and family plans.
4. Champion the voice of the child and promote trauma-informed practice.

This is a frontline role where your ability to build relationships, navigate complex needs, and empower families will be key to achieving positive outcomes.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who:

5. Holds an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
6. Has experience working with children, young people, and families to deliver preventative interventions.
7. Understands the social and economic factors affecting family outcomes.
8. Can lead and coordinate multi-agency support and assessments.
9. Has strong communication, conflict resolution, and partnership working skills.
10. Is flexible and confident working across schools and communities.
11. Holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle.
