Job Title : Fabric Technician
We are seeking a skilled Fabric Technician to join our team in Oxford. This role involves delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services across a range of building fabric and associated systems.
Shift Pattern :
4 days on / 4 days off
Day shift : 07:00 - 19:00
Role Summary
* Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks within the team.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are completed within agreed timescales.
* Liaise with client representatives regarding maintenance and repair requirements.
* Conduct site surveys and prepare Works Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments for planned works.
* Carry out repairs to floor and wall coverings.
* Perform ceiling tile repairs and replacements.
* Undertake general building and installation works as required.
* Responsible for lighting maintenance, including lamp changes, filter changes on AHUs / FCUs, and basic plumbing tasks.
* Use PDA systems for work updates and communication.
* Complete reactive, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) jobs, and minor project works efficiently.
* Ensure all tasks comply with Health and Safety regulations.
* Undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by the Technical Services Manager.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in fabric maintenance and carpentry.
* Background in high-profile work environments.
* City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent in carpentry.
* Valid UK driving licence.
* Proficient in PC use and digital systems.
* Strong customer service and communication skills.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, instructions, and processes.
* Self-organised with the ability to manage tasks and determine material requirements.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, including COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessments.
* Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH and / or NEBOSH are desirable.
* Flexibility to work beyond contractual hours when required.
