Salary: Up to £65,000 base + commission + car allowance

About the Company


We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established European road freight specialist with a strong UK operation. The business runs groupage, part-load and full-load solutions across key EU corridors with reliable schedules, quick pricing, and a leadership team that lets salespeople get on with selling. The Role


Based in the South of England (hybrid), operating a UK-wide patch. This is a senior hunter role: win new mid-market road freight accounts, then grow and retain them. Deliver consistently for 2–3 quarters and you’ll step into a Sales Director remit, shaping the playbook and future headcount.



Key Responsibilities


* Win new business nationally across groupage/LTL/FTL UK–EU lanes
* Build and convert a qualified pipeline: outreach, visits, solution design, proposals and tenders
* Negotiate margin-focused pricing in partnership with commercial/ops
* Ensure slick onboarding and service performance against agreed KPIs
* Retain & develop wins through QBRs, upsell and cross-sell
* Track market intel (lanes, competitors, rate trends) to inform strategy



What You’ll Bring


* Proven success winning European road freight accounts (essential)
* Credibility selling groupage / part-load / full-load and value-add services
* Strong commercial acumen: GP, margin protection, bid cycles, contract terms
* Consultative approach with senior stakeholders; confident in face-to-face selling
* Comfortable with national travel while working hybrid from a South-of-England base
* Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK



What Success Looks Like (Path to Sales Director)


* Hitting/overachieving new-business GP targets quarter after quarter
* Consistent pipeline coverage and forecast accuracy
* Demonstrated leadership behaviours: coaching, deal strategy, playbook input
