We are looking for an Imaging Department Assistant to join our busy and friendly team. You will need to be able to take part in a rota that covers duties from 6.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. seven days a week, worked over 37.5 hours per week for full timers covering all three sites: Burton, Lichfield and Tamworth.
Responsibilities
* To assist with patient care, hoisting, changing, moving and administration of patients within the Imaging department, and continue that care where necessary throughout the imaging process.
* To assist healthcare professionals in performing imaging procedures (e.g., room preparation, preparation of contrast media, chaperoning of patients and general patient care).
* To support infection control measures in the Imaging Department (e.g., assist with preparation of rooms and cleaning up afterwards).
* To be responsible for the general cleaning and assist in quality assurance programmes for associated equipment.
* To be responsible for stock control in the area.
* To assist in the training of new non-radiographic staff, enabling them to become fully conversant with the duties applicable to them.
* To be familiar with, and comply with, the Health & Safety, Ionising Radiation and COSHH policies as outlined by the Trust or department.
* To ensure that all clinical and other information records are fully and accurately completed, including the radiology computer system and hospital information system.
