The successful candidate will:
* Have experience working with residents living with dementia
* Have a genuine interest in residents' wellbeing
* Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
* Work effectively within a team
* Motivate residents to participate in activities
* Have good organisational and time management skills
* Build self-esteem among residents
* Stay informed about new activities and innovations
Role and responsibilities include:
* Organising and coordinating tailored activities for individuals and groups, including themed events based on holidays and traditions
* Booking external entertainers and suppliers
* Planning trips in the community, considering transport and accessibility
* Contributing to a varied activity programme to enhance residents' quality of life
* Maintaining records of resident participation and needs
* Managing a portfolio of available activities and community resources
* Participating in fundraising events as required
General duties:
* Attending staff meetings
* Completing mandatory and developmental training
* Communicating effectively with staff, families, and external agencies
* Practising safe working practices within the home
