Senior Healthcare Support Worker - Medical Ward (Ref: 232605)
Are you a Healthcare Support Worker looking for a new challenge and development opportunity? Or curious to try a career in care for the first time? This role is a fixed-term, 6-month position on a busy acute medical ward, where you will learn many new skills and help patients achieve the best possible standard of care.
Working hours: Various hours – part-time or full-time available.
Salary: Band 3 – £28,011 – £30,230 per annum (pro-rata).
Distant Islands Allowance: £2,482 per annum (pro-rata).
Key responsibilities:
* Provide timely and compassionate support to patients across the ward.
* Assist staff with basic nursing duties, patient hygiene, mobility and monitoring.
* Maintain accurate records and report any concerns in line with ward procedures.
* Comply with the Induction Standards and Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers within 3 months of commencement.
Qualifications and Experience:
* SVQ2 level in healthcare or equivalent experience in a caring environment.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills, numeracy, and enthusiasm for developing healthcare knowledge.
* Willingness to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or complete an update before formal offer.
