Job Vacancy: Primary School Teaching Assistant – Cowbridge

Contract: Full-time (Term-Time Only)
Salary: £89.38 per day

Are you passionate about helping children thrive in their early years of education? A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Cowbridge is looking to appoint multiple enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils and staff in delivering high-quality education.
About the Role:
Working across Foundation Phase and Key Stage 1, you will support class teachers in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment. You’ll play a key part in helping pupils reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons
* Support pupils in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
* Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive attitudes to learning
* Prepare and organise learning materials and classroom resources
* Provide pastoral care and emotional support where needed
* Support children with additional learning needs (where applicable)
✅ What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with primary-aged children (school or nursery setting)
* A nurturing, patient, and encouraging attitude
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative
* A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable (but not essential):
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Experience supporting children with ALN (Additional Learning Needs)
* Familiarity with the Welsh Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2 curriculum
* Welsh language skills are an advantage but not essential
