An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive to join a dynamic and supportive Legal Services team within a Local Authority. This is a fantastic role for someone looking to develop a career in public law, particularly in childcare and family matters. Key Responsibilities: • Managing and advising on all aspects of care proceedings and adoption matters, including international issues where applicable • Handling Deprivation of Liberty (DOL) and Secure Accommodation proceedings • Drafting legal documents such as applications, threshold statements, case summaries, and orders • Dealing with Section 7 and Section 37 reports • Representing the authority in court and undertaking advocacy as required About You: • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with a practising certificate in England & Wales • Up to 3 years’ post-qualification experience in your area of practice • Solid understanding of children’s social care law and associated public law frameworks • Strong drafting and analytical skills, with attention to detail • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to manage complex caseloads efficiently • Committed to ongoing professional development • Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential This role offers hybrid working with an expectation of attending the office when required.
