The Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Strategy and Policy. This position involves providing technical and coordination support to the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing service, ensuring the provision of consistent and quality advice to both council employees and external agencies. The role requires managing projects, maintaining systems, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and procedures. The Assistant will work under the supervision of the Head of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing, while independently managing their priorities.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical and coordination support for Health, Safety, and Wellbeing activities and projects.
* Deliver Health, Safety, and Wellbeing projects within agreed timelines.
* Handle casework and analyze data related to Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.
* Maintain the Health, Safety, and Wellbeing system (SHE Assure) for effective incident and risk management.
* Ensure the Incident Reporting System complies with RIDDOR Regulations.
* Oversee the SHE Assure system and serve as the primary contact for users.
* Plan, coordinate, and communicate day-to-day Health, Safety, and Wellbeing functions, particularly the audit program.
* Capture meeting notes, undertake research, and prepare reports.
* Work closely with the Head of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing and Advisors to deliver services.
* Manage the generic mailbox, triaging and prioritizing emails appropriately.

* Strong understanding of office and digital processes, as well as Health, Safety, and Wellbeing procedures and policies.
* Ability to deliver projects and maintain systems effectively.
* Experience in handling casework and analyzing data.
* Familiarity with incident reporting systems and compliance with regulations.
* Excellent customer care skills and the ability to provide high-quality services.
* Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
* Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
