Overview
Reed are working with a leading global law firm who are seeking a Senior Claims Dispute & Litigation Controller to join its dynamic Claims Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing complex County Court disputes, supporting high-profile clients, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Based in Newcastle, the Claims Team is a group of 12 professionals, key responsibilities will include:
* Managing a caseload of complex or strategic litigated matters from start to finish.
* Investigating claims liability within regulatory frameworks, ensuring cost control.
* Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Defending claims and challenge third parties where appropriate.
* Validating and assessing claims and correspondence to meet deadlines and reduce response times.
* Mentoring and coaching colleagues, conducting quality checks, and supporting continuous improvement.
* Escalating matters for specialist input when necessary.
* Preparing litigation documents in line with CPR guidance and negotiating settlements.
* Recording and analysing data as needed.
* Delivering training and supporting process improvements.
* Assisting senior colleagues and management as required.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Strong background in claims and litigation management.
* Proven experience mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members.
* Deep understanding of claims handling principles and best practices.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* High attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities.
* Adaptability and a proactive, resilient attitude.
